Board members

Ridgeway’s Board decide how the business is run, how money is spent and what sort of services are provided. There are 10 Board members and they can receive a small payment for their time and services and out-of-pocket expenses, such as travelling costs.

Anne Goymer

Anne Goymer - Chairman

Anne Goymer has been on the Board since 2004. She's assistant director of children’s services for Barnardos, which involves planning and managing a wide range of services for vulnerable families, children and young people. She's a firm believer in partnership working and involving vulnerable groups in the wider community.

 

 

 

Tim Cooper

Tim Cooper

Tim Cooper joined the Board in August 2005.  He's managing director of the Shaw Trust, a charity that provides specialist recruitment services for disabled and disadvantaged people. His past experience includes membership of the South West Regional Committee of Housing 21, a large specialist provider of housing for older people, and a role as Trustee/Vice Chair of REAP Resettlement Agency, a floating support provider.

John Heffer

John Heffer

John Heffer is a retired chartered surveyor. He joined the Ridgeway Board in 2005 and has been Board member of Sarsen Housing Association since 1995. He's also on the Board for Wiltshire Rural Housing Association. He has a particular interest and expertise in housing and estate management, property development and management and maintenance.

 

Helen Marriage

Helen Marriage

Helen Marriage has been a Board member since October 2003. She works as an arts consultant but was previously director of Salisbury Festival Ltd. She has experience in charitable law, fundraising, financial management, human resources, and marketing. Helen's also a trustee of Harnham Water Meadows Trust, a director of Matrix Ensemble and chair of the Independent Street Arts Network. Helen has a particular interest in community service and providing care. 

 

Edie Szep

Edie Szep

Edie Szep is the former chairman of Ridgeway Community Housing Association. She has also been a Board member of sister housing association Sarsen since 1995. She has more than 30 years experience in housing, both as a consultant and a former housing association chief executive. She serves on a number of committees, including housing and personnel.

Paul Bancroft

Paul Bancroft - Vice Chairman

Paul Bancroft was appointed to the Ridgeway Board in 2003. Following a career in the Royal Marines, he's now an area organiser for the British Heart Foundation in Wiltshire. Paul’s role is focused on fundraising, developing awareness of the foundation, and providing information and education concerning heart and circulatory disease. He also has expertise in charity law.

Janet Giles

Janet Giles

Janet Giles was appointed to the Ridgeway Board in 2003. She's a councillor for Wiltshire Council and was member of the council’s Housing Committee. She's also the Kennet representative for Supporting People. Janet has particular experience in property management, care services, local government and business management. She's also a school governor and parish councillor.

 

 

Alec Light

Alec Light

Alec Light joined the Ridgeway Board in 2003 and is also a Sarsen resident and Board member. He runs his own business, providing domestic repairs and decoration services. His particular areas of interest and expertise are in housing and estate management, property management and maintenance and community development.    

Patsy Newton

Patsy Newton

Patsy Newton joined Ridgeway’s Board in 2004 and used to be a Sarsen Board member. She's a non-executive director of the Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust and vice chairman of Cirencester Housing Society.
Patsy is the former housing association chief executive of United Housing Association in Bristol.  She has a vast knowledge of social housing and experience of working with working with voluntary and statutory agencies.

Stuart Davies

Stuart Davies is managing director of Sarsen Housing Association as well as Ridgeway Community Housing Association.  He is a former housing chief executive and local authority housing director, and a corporate member of the Chartered Institute of Housing.
