Ridgeway, like other housing associations, has a Board. Its job is to decide how the business is run, including setting rent, how money is spent and what sort of services are provided.
Board members
Ridgeway has 10 board members, including managing director Stuart Davies.
Payment
Board members can receive a small amount in return for their time, although some choose to give the money to charity. They are also paid out-of-pocket expenses, such as travelling costs. Resident Board members are given training and support and are responsible for Ridgeway's strategic direction.
Board tour
Once a year, we give Board members a tour of our homes so they can see the work we do.
Planning for the future
We also hold an away day for Board members every year. This allows them to look back at the challenges and achievements of the last year and plan ahead for the coming year.
